It is with sadness we announce the passing of Bruce Kenneth Augustin on June 18, 2023, in Biggar, Saskatchewan. Bruce was born on September 2, 1943, in Wilkie, Saskatchewan.
He leaves behind his sons Boyd, Kevin (Rayleen); daughter-in-law Tana Emmerling; grandsons Cole Emmerling, Travis, Tyler (Amber), Brett (Jodi), Kyle (Faith), great-grandsons Derek and Wyatt; his sisters Bev (Gerald) Baumgart, Bonnie, Shelley and numerous nephews, a niece and great-nephews and nieces. Bruce was predeceased by his wife, Darlene (nee Oas), granddaughter Tara Emmerling, his parents Kenneth and Marjorie and brother Donald.
Bruce was raised on the farm at Handel. When first married he and Darlene lived in a number of towns/cities in Saskatchewan but in 1975 moved to Kerrobert where they worked and raised the boys. In 1994 Bruce’s dad passed away in July and Bruce had to complete the harvest that year. He finally caught the farming bug. He soon decided they should move to the farm and he’d take up farming. From 1995 until his retirement from Endbridge on August 31, 2001, Bruce farmed the home quarters and worked. After retirement he continued to farm until 2012 when he retired from everything but enjoying life. Bruce and Darlene had a cabin at Turtle Lake for many years. Bruce enjoyed hunting and fishing. In 2016 Bruce and Darlene moved to their condo in Biggar where Bruce remained until mid April, 2023, when he moved to the Biggar Health Centre.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at 2:00 PM at the Handel Hall in Handel, SK. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Ducks Unlimited or Kinsmen Telemiracle. Arrangements in care of Gerein Funeral Service. 306.948.2669.
