CLIFFORD KING Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our father, brother, grandfather, and dear friend; Clifford Noel King, March 7, 2022.

Clifford was born December 25, 1950 at the Battleford Indian hospital. He grew up in the North Battleford area. Clifford received his G.E.D and worked along side his father in a family construction company. After his father passed in 1973, he worked for a few other construction companies and was an orderly at the Sask Hospital. In his younger years, he would spend the summers in the United States with his brothers Victor and Curtis and sister Lizette (Maria). Clifford enjoyed his time working at various positions at the Gold Eagle Casino. He often talked about setting up and teaching the various locations about Blackjack and Poker tables across Saskatchewan. Cliff then joined the Maple Leaf team here in North Battleford and worked on the lines and was a supervisor up until they closed. Once in retirement, Clifford worked closely with Darren’s Painting in town to help spend his days.

Clifford was an active athlete. In the summer and fall you would find him on the ball diamonds, in the outfield, shortstop or any position needed to keep the game going. In later years he spent time coaching and umping the games and enjoyed giving the boys a hard time. His love of the game was well known and passed onto his kids. If you ever needed to know what was happening with the Blue Jays, you just gave Cliff a call. If you couldn’t find Cliff on the diamonds, he would be on the Golf Field. In the winter months he would be in the hockey rink. Cliff enjoyed watching hockey and the Edmonton Oilers. He was an active reader and enjoyed spending time with his coffee at the library.

Clifford will be remembered with love by his Children; Penny (Dane) Lewis, and their children Dante, Dalton, Dezarae Schneider, and Liam, Janine King, Blair (Tess) McCormick and their daughter Clara, T.J. (Kristina) King; Brother(s) Curtis (Bella) Valladolid, Leon Kennedy, Ron Martinez; Sister(s) Sherry Komeotis, Lorri (Garrett); Lifelong Friend Debbie (Kenney) Stewart; Friend Melissa Pitkeathley; as well as numerous extended family members and friends.

He was predeceased by his Son: Noel King, Parents; Doris Chicken-Valladolid, Joe Valladolid, Leo Kennedy, Margaret Sommebath; Brother Victor Garza, Louis Valladolid; Sister Lizette (Maria) Laverdure.

A family interment will take place in the summer months. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made in his honour to the Lung Society for Pulmonary Fibrosis OR Heart and Stroke Foundation.
