Denise M. (deMoissac) Holt

Denise Marie Holt (deMoissac) passed away peacefully in Scottsdale Arizona with family at her side on March 27, 2022.

Denise was the fourth child born to Louis & Cecile deMoissac on June 14, 1954. Born in Biggar, Denise attended school at St. Gabriel’s & later Biggar Composite High School. In her final year of high school, Denise met the love of her life, Ross Holt. They were married on April 28, 1973.

Denise had been involved in the family business since her teenage years. Together with Ross they became owners of deMoissac Jewellers in April of 1977. Throughout the following years, Denise dedicated many hours to her business and to the community of Biggar. Kinettes, OSAC, Arts Council, Biggar Business Association, St. Gabriel School, Music Festival, & School of Dance were numbered among the boards and organizations she took an active role in.

On June 21, 1987, Denise & Ross welcomed their first child, Melissa, followed by Marc two years later on September 18, 1989. Denise’s love and devotion to family was rounded out years later with the addition of her 3 precious grandsons- Reid, Rylan & Regan.

Her family, gardening and the cultivation of beautiful lilies along with her pets and active volunteer work provided joy in Denise’s life. She shared an interest in travel as she embarked on European travel with her sister and sadly the plans for further adventures were cut short.

Left to mourn her passing is her loving husband of nearly 49 years, Ross Holt; daughter Melissa (Colton) Silvernagle & grandsons Reid, Rylan & Regan; son Marc (Chelsea) Holt; Brother Jean Paul (Margaret) deMoissac; Sister Louise (David) Wiwchar; Sister-in-law Irene deMoissac; Sister-in-law Linda Holt; Brother-in-law Allan (Patricia) Holt; Sister-in-law Lorraine (Rene) deMoissac; along with numerous nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Louis & Cecile deMoissac; Parents-in-law, George & Alice Holt; Brother, Guy deMoissac; Sister-in-law, Anne deMoissac; Brother-in-law, Donald Holt.

A celebration of life will be held at St. Gabriel Roman Catholic Church in Biggar, Saskatchewan on April 13th, 2022 at 1:00pm followed by a private family interment & a public gathering at the Biggar Community Hall.
