Edward Anthony Hoffart

February 1, 1928 - December 25, 2020

With a wee smile on his face, Dad went to celebrate Christmas in heaven with our mom. Dad passed peacefully at Unity Health Center early Christmas morning.

Ed (aka “Butch”) grew up in Tramping Lake, SK and for many years was the accountant and parts man at Frehlich’s garage and farm dealership.  He met and fell in love with Madeline Sanders and on June 8, 1955 they were married and started their young family.  Dad took the Local Government Administration course and in 1964 the family moved to Traynor, SK where dad was the Secretary-Treasurer of the R.M. of Rosemont.  In 1967, dad became the Administrator of the R.M. of Buffalo in Wilkie; the position he held until he retired.  Dad mentored many upcoming administrators during his career.  He was extremely well-organized and his books were always impeccable.  Each year, his were some of the easiest accounts for the auditors to review because they were always in such good shape.

Family was very important to dad.  He was a devoted husband and father.  Dad and mom enjoyed many trips to Hawaii and Las Vegas.  He also really enjoyed camping, fishing and golfing with his kids and grandchildren even though often most of his time was spent looking for golf balls or untangling fishing lines or hooks.   He was always so patient and kind!

Dad was devastated in 2004 when he lost our mom- the love of his life.

Dad had a very strong faith.  He attended daily mass as long as he was physically able and prayed the rosary every day.  He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and served on the parish council.

In 2006 he struck up a special friendship with Maggie and the two have supported each other ever since.

Edward leaves to cherish his memory son Edwin Hoffart (Darcy) Daughters Vivian (Ervin) Sieben, Bonny Hoffart and Noreen Hoffart; grandchildren Derek Sieben (Stacey), Rhonda (Jamie Nye) and Jacalyn Sieben, step grandchildren Devan (Lauren) and Nicholas; Great-grandchildren Bria Sieben, Edith Nye and Jasper Nye and step great granddaughter Kaycee Campbell; and his special friend Maggie Gerein.  His sisters Martha Edmonds, Beatrice Gross, Deanna (Gene Frison), Helen Hoffart, Sisters and brothers-in-law Elly Sanders, Don and Linda Bohn, Ron and Gloria Bohn, Lorraine Elder, Andy Tryhuba and numerous step sisters and brothers, nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his loving wife Madeline and grandson Dale Edward Sieben, parents August and Annie Hoffart; sisters Theresa Hoffart, Monica Hoffart, and Cecile Tryhuba, Mother and Fathers-in-law Eleanora Bohn and  Phillip Sanders and Sylvester Bohn; Brothers and Sisters-In-law Phillip (Sandy) Sanders, Jean and George Stolz, Kay and Frank Young, Dennis Elder, Bill Edmonds, Hugo Gross.
