Those we love can never be more than a thought apart, for as long as there is memory, they’ll live on in the heart.

Errol Friesen, 20, of Unity, SK died suddenly and peacefully on Monday January 13, 2020.

Errol is survived by his parents, Craig & Colleen Friesen (Unity, SK) and younger brother Dylan (Unity, SK); grandparents Les & Lydia Friesen (Abbotsford, BC); aunt Sherry & Karl Olfert (Abbotsford, BC); uncle Rod Friesen (Dewdney, BC); uncle Dwayne & Nadine Friesen (Dewdney, BC); aunt Carol & Marvin Storey (Weyburn, SK); uncle Larry & Marilyn Gervais (Estevan, SK); Rose Marie Gervais (Lethbridge, AB); aunt Karen & Peter Melle (Estevan, SK) and numerous cousins and cousins’ children. Errol was predeceased by grandparents Paul & Esther Gervais; uncle Lyle Gervais and aunt Cheryl Gervais.

Errol was born in Saskatoon on November 10, 1999 to Craig & Colleen Friesen. He grew up in the communities of Rosthern, Abbotsford, Lethbridge and Unity. Errol graduated from Unity Composite High School in 2017 and had just begun studies in September, 2019 at the Edward School of Business, University of Saskatchewan.

At the young age of 14 years Errol started his first job, at the A&W in Unity. After high school graduation Errol worked at the Delta Co-op gas station in Unity until his decision to pursue a business degree at U of S. He worked hard his first semester, proud of the results and was looking forward to returning after the Christmas break. When he was younger Errol thought he might like to be a nurse when he grew up because he wanted to help people. While his work interests changed considerably his compassion for people around him did not; this was often demonstrated through customer service and his relationships with everyone around him. Errol’s greatest passion was computer gaming which he enjoyed sharing with his friends and family. As a friend, a gamer, a son and a brother he will be sorely missed but not forgotten by those close to him as well as many others whose lives were touched by Errol’s compassion and infectious smile.

A celebration of Errol Friesen’s life will be held on January 22, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at the Unity Legion Hall.
