Edmund Bek Pedersen quietly passed away in his home on Sept 14th, 2026. A celebration of his life will be held on Sept 26 at 2:00 pm at the Cut Knife Community Center.
Ed was predeceased by his parents Peder and Emma, siblings Axel, John, Edith McAvena, and Clarence; in-laws Sam McAvena and Arleigh Bek Pedersen. To carry on his memory are his brother Gil, sister-in-laws Marcella Pedersen and Helen Penner, nieces Karen Pedersen, Beth May and their families; nephews Yens, Kelly, Eric, Roger, Raymond Pedersen and their families, Scott and Ken McAvena and their families, granddaughter Shayla Dyck, and his many NFU friends.
Ed spent many years on the road surveying before he came home to farm in 1983. Having lived in and traveled to so many places, he always believed he grew up and lived in the best community there was. He was committed to supporting his immediate and broader community and did what he could to support the work of organizations devoted to social justice.
Donations in his memory can be made to the National Farmers Foundation or the Cut Knife Library.
