Edward Fertuck Obituary

Edward Fertuck, 79, of Arelee, Saskatchewan, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2026, after a short and courageous battle with cancer.  Born on April 2, 1947, in Sonningdale, Saskatchewan, Edward was the beloved son of Anita Harelkin and Bill Fertuck.

On November 7, 1976, Edward married Karen, and together they moved to the farm in Arelee 1983 where they stayed. Even after retiring, Edward continued to farm 10 acres. In his final days, Edward’s thoughts were on the harvest, asking when someone was going to get his crop off—proof of how much farming meant to him.

Edward is survived by his siblings Sandra Twardy, Gerald Fertuck, Audrey Fertuck, and Rick Fertuck. He is predeceased by his brothers Randy and Kenny Fertuck.

He leaves behind his wife Karen, his children Clayton (Ednali) and Natasha (Kevin), and his cherished grandchildren Tylar, Golan, Nathan, Leo, and Alexander, great grandchildren Tessa and Theron.

A come and go Celebration of Life will be held in Asquith on October 24, 2026, from 1:00–4:00 PM at the Asquith Seniors Centre. All who knew Edward are welcome to attend, share memories, and honour his life.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the dedicated staff at the Saskatoon Cancer Clinic and the compassionate nurses and staff at Biggar Hospital for their care and support during Edward’s last days.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency in Edward’s memory.
