Elaine Fay Ireland Obituary

Elaine was born March 28, 1948 to Lloyd and Thelma Gilles, big brother Harold, twin sister Eileen, and later Murray. She grew up in and received her schooling in Unity, graduating in 1967. She met the love of her life Ken and were married in August of 1968. Together they built a life, living numerous places before they settled on the farm where they lived for 40 years. They welcomed 3 children, Allan in 1970, Connie in 1973 and Stephen in 1975. In the years that followed Mom was actively involved in the farming operation, the 4-H Club, and anything else that involved her family.

Mom enjoyed travelling whether it was a trip to Taber or a trip to Mexico, Hawaii or Florida. She enjoyed going camping and getting to spend time with her kids and grandkids. Often times you could find Mom outside working in her yard or just enjoying a drink on the back patio. Elaine leaves to lovingly remember her, her husband, soulmate and travel partner of 56 years, Ken; Her children Allan (Twyla) and family Trevor (Nikki) and Jayden, Korey (Sierra) and children Knyxon and Addison; Connie (Perry) and family Daniel, Colton (Guianne) and son Kyle; Stephen and Megan (Hunter).

She was predeceased by her parents Lloyd and Thelma; her twin sister Eileen Schafer; brother Murray Gilles; and her in-laws John “Jack” and Evelyn Ireland. Elaine Ireland passed away on September 20, 2024 in Unity, SK.
