Emma was born in Bateman Saskatchewan Nov 16th, 1926. She moved with her parents Gotthold and Otillia Stehr to the Phippen family farm in 1931. Emma met Anthony (Tony) Duchcherer in Wilkie and married on July 31st, 1946. They worked out for two months at Freemont Saskatchewan. In 1947, they purchased a farm in the Cleavering district located four miles from Adanac, three miles from Phippen. They were blessed with seven children. They retired to Unity Saskatchewan in 1976 after 29 years on the farm, and built a new house on Jubilee Bay. Tony passed away in 1992. In April 2000 Emma decided to move into Luther Place condo in Unity, which was home until May 2015. Due to health issues, she relocated to Victoria Park Care Home in Regina where she resided until her passing.
Emma was a wonderful Mom. She loved working outside on the farm and always had a garden until she moved into Luther Place. She loved being with her family and friends. When she moved into the care home, she spent most of her time in the activity room doing activities and visiting with people. Emma loved life, and had a smile for everyone. She will be deeply missed.
