After a full and happy life, Mom passed away on the evening of July 7 at the age of 93.
Mom’s life spanned a childhood growing up on a farm north of Wilkie, graduating from McLurg High School, working as a secretary at the salt plant and Krips’s farm dealership in Unity, to her move to a farm in the Swarthmore district as a young wife. She called the farm home until her move to her final residence at Luther Place.
Mom married our Dad, Keith Maze, on July 9, 1952. Dad predeceased her in 2006 but she arrived in heaven in time to spend their 74th Anniversary together.
They raised the 4 of us, Norm, Jackie, Lois & Gary, on the farm and welcomed 10 grandchildren. Mom lived to see 10 great-grandchildren added with an 11th on the way.
Mom was a seamstress extraordinaire, baker, gardener, lodge member, and her love of playing all kinds of card games brought her great joy.
She enjoyed 30+ years of winters in Palm Springs and became a shuffleboard champion. When she could no longer go south she settled into her busy life at Luther Place. We are so thankful that this was her final home, surrounded by wonderful friends. She will be greatly missed.
