It is with sadness that the family of Gordon Germsheid announces his passing on August 19, 2022, at the age of 79.

Gordie is survived by his wife of 52 years, Marilee and his 5 children, Sheri Lee (Murray; children Colton, Taylor), Trevor (Tyra; daughters Tayla, Taralyn), Duane (Jen; children Joesph, Morgan), Chad (Michelle; daughter Grace) and Jill (Chad; daughters Cadence, Dylann).

Gordie is also survived by his siblings, Doreen, Shirley & Joan (Don) along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Gordie was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Agnes, and siblings Marcella, Evelyn, Alvin, Kathy, Theresa, Glen & Jackie (John).

Gordie was born in Biggar on June 17, 1943. Gordie attended school in Handel and later took over the family farm when his dad Joesph passed away in 1976. He met Marilee Maesar in 1969 and they were married on March 1 1970. Gordie and Marilee were truly blessed with their first child Sheri Lee in 1971. Trevor followed in 1974, Duane in 1977, Chad in 1978 and Jill completed their family in 1980.

Gordie dedicated his life to farming. His passions were curling, fishing, hunting and watching the Toronto Blue Jays. One of the highlights of his farm life were his pure bred Pinzgauer Cattle.  He was a great dancer and Marilee and him enjoyed and attended many dine and dances.  Gordon always enjoyed having company over, playing cards and spending quality time with family and friends.

They sold the Germsheid farm in 2007 and retired in Biggar, Sk. Gordie resided at the Biggar Health Centre Long Term Care until his passing.

Gordie's family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at the lodge for the care over the years.

Special thanks goes out to Joe Roesch and crew for helping out with the grave yard trimming.
