It is with heavy hearts that our family announces the passing of our beloved, husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, & mentor, George Andrew Louis Ekman on Monday, May 22, 2023 in Biggar, SK.
George was born to Louis & Marion Ekman in Coronation, AB on May 14, 1937. He is survived by his loving wife Joan of almost 63 years; his daughter Bonny (John) Howard, their children Ashley (Chad) Coffin, and Andy Howard; his son Leroy (Tracy), their children Dakota, Dylan, Daniel, & Dawson; son Kim; sisters Christina Wager, Phyllis Engel, & Emily Truman; brothers Richard & Percy; sister in-laws Pauline Ekman, Sherry Ekman, & Darlene Ekman; & many nieces & nephews. He was pre-deceased by his parents Louis & Marion, siblings Harry, Rodney, Arthur, & Clifford; & brothers-in-law Gerald Wager, Alfred Engel, & Richard Truman.
George was well known across the prairies for his famous blue bin sweep & round-about grain auger mover kits. George created a legacy which will be forever remembered.
George will be dearly missed, but our memories with him will remain in our hearts forever. We can rest that George is no longer in pain, and that he is with his Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ. We know he will always be looking down on us.
A Celebration of George’s life will be held on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at 3:00PM at the Perdue Recreation Complex (1124 10th Street, Perdue, SK).
