In loving memory of our mischievous patriarch, Grandpa Hervie, a man of many hats and even more laughs. He bid adieu to this world, almost making it to the completion of his 100th year.  

He had a soft spot for country dances, where he twirled his beloved Elvera around the floor like no one else was in the room. Traveling with his wife, family dinners at the farm, and hours telling stories or debating Habs' wins and losses were what fueled this stubborn Frenchman.

Hervie's greatest joy was his beloved Elvera and the beautiful family they created together. Four children, eleven grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren later, their legacy lives on in the laughter and love they shared.

In between his adventures and family gatherings, Grandpa worked hard to provide for his family. With roots in the Navy and careers in sales, the railway, and real estate, he was a jack-of-all-trades who never shied away from a challenge or passed off to someone something that he could fix himself.

Kiki had a passion for golf that rivaled his love for Elvera. As a die-hard Habs fan, he cheered on his team with an intensity that would put a Montreal sports bar to shame.

But perhaps Grandpa's greatest feat was his ability to keep up with the times. He witnessed the world change. At 99, he was the oldest member of our Snapchat circle, sharing selfies and stories with the enthusiasm of a teenager. He may have been a century old, but his spirit was as young and vibrant as ever.

So, here's to you, Papa, the man, the myth, and truly the legend. May your mischievous spirit live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved you. Cheers to a long life well-lived, tu nous manqueras toujours. Rest easy, you have earned it. We love you and will miss you forever. So long. A Funeral Service for Hervie will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at 2:00PM at St. Gabriel’s Roman Catholic Church in Biggar, SK. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Arrangements entrusted to Gerein Funeral Service.
