Hilda Gloria (Hume) Walker

Hilda Walker (née Hume) passed away peacefully at St. Paul’s Hospital surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on May 24, 1949, in Salter to John and Lydia (Crowe) Hume.

In her younger years, Hilda moved with her family to Milo where she attended Milo School before later moving to Landis to complete her high school education. It was there that she met the love of her life, Ross Shaw. Hilda and Ross began their life together on April 8, 1975, and remained devoted to one another for the rest of their lives while raising their five children together.

Hilda found joy in the simple and meaningful things in life. She loved crocheting, tending to her garden, baking, and most of all, spending time with her children and grandchildren. She created countless treasured memories with her family and was always happiest when surrounded by those she loved. Her home was a place of warmth, comfort, laughter, and unconditional love, and she was always ready for another visit, gathering, or adventure with the kids.

Hilda will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She was a truly wonderful woman whose kindness, love, and presence touched so many lives.

Hilda will be remembered by her children, Dawn (Dave) Thompson, Brad Walker, Tammy Bowers, Trevor (Esther) Shaw, and Shanell Shaw. 

Her Grandchildren, Amanda, Nathan, Mackenzie, Patricia (Teagon), Tomaz (Nicole), Theo, Mercedes, Jessica, Nathan (Natasha), Brittany (Brian), Taylor (Levi), Dylan (Bailey) and Miquela (Brayden)

She was predeceased by her Husband Ross Shaw, Mother and Father Lydia & John Hume, Sister Violet Parker, and Brother Bob Crowe.
