Isobel Ferguson (Grant) Sigstad

Isobel Sigstad passed peacefully Monday morning November 21, 2022 wrapped in her favorite tartan, surrounded by her family.  

Isobel was born in Glasgow Scotland April 13, 1934, third child of Bill and Peggie Grant.  She was raised on the farm by Harris, SK and attended Purple Grove country school, Harris School, Co-op School and Madeline's Dressmaking School. Like many young farm girls, Isobel developed various skills over her years including driving horses, running farm equipment, dress making, raising cows, milking cows, baking, cooking and gardening.  Isobel was happiest on the farm.  She also enjoyed various trips including trips to Scotland.  

Isobel met and married the love of her life Allister Sigstad August 23, 1958 and started married life on a farm in the Quill Lake district. Allister and Isobel had four children: oldest son Bill Sigstad of Saskatoon, daughter Peggie and husband James Saik of St Vincent, AB, daughter Allison and husband Al Kirzinger of Perdue, SK, and son Marty and Brenda Harris/Saskatoon.  Isobel's parents retired in 1968 to Harris and the farm was sold to Isobel and Allister.  

Allister and Isobel were blessed with 14 grandchildren: Danny, Amy, Sarah, Adam, Kelsey, Shamus, Hannah, Brittany, Kristi, Kylee, Logan, Conner, Danika and Matthew.

15+ Great grandchildren: Jasmine, Jaeda, Brenna, Austin, Corbyn, Veronica, Josie, Katelyn, Gavin, Rylee, Dawson, Wesson, Aliana, Chante, Shanelle, Jaxon, Evander and one soon-to-be-announced.

As well as numerous nieces and nephews.  

Isobel was predeceased by her husband Allister (1993), parents Bill and Peggie Grant, sister Margaret, sister Adeline (Bill) and baby brother, in-laws Martin & Etta Sigstad, brothers-in-law Don Kalmring, Willis Sigstad, daughter-in-law Kelly Sigstad, niece Lea Nesbitt, great grandson Kole Baschuk.

Special thanks to the wonderful care provided by Simona's Care Home, Kim Champagne, and the care and support of Neurology 6300 ward at Royal University Hospital and support from all the staff at Gerein Funeral Service.

 A memorial service will be held at Harris June 2023.  In lieu of flowers, you may wish to do a small act of kindness in her memory.
