John Sopyc passed away on October 27, 2023 in Unity, SK. He is lovingly remembered by his wife Doreen; his children, Gary Sopyc (deceased August 2023); Ken Sopyc (Denise) and their children Jared Leslie, Dallis (Kevin) Barry; Glenda Mason (John deceased 2015), and their children Bobbie (Mike) Haines, Courtney (Lee) Mundt; Shelley Russett (Dennis), and their children Stephanie (Tumelo) Mogotsi, Evan Russett; Allan Sopyc (Darlene) and their children Niki (Trent) Lewis and Travis (Vanessa) Sopyc; and 15 great-grandchildren. John was predeceased  by his father, Harry Sopyc in 1968; mother Annie Gawuik in 1999; brother Bill Sopyc in 2008; son Gary Sopyc in 2023; father-in-law Peter Kirchgesner in 2004; mother-in-law Margaret Kirchgesner in 1999; brother-in-law Tony Kirchgesner in 2020; niece Maureen Chabassol in 2021; and son-in-law John Mason in 2015.

A Funeral Service for John will be held Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at 10:30AM at St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church in Unity, SK. Tributes may be directed to Unity Long Term Care or to Mass Stipends.
