Judith Marilyn Rutley was born on Feb 24th 1939, in Edmonton, Alberta and passed away on July 7th, 2024 at 85 years old in Saskatoon. Judy is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Donald Rutley and sons Kenneth (Candice), granddaughters Irelynd and Ava; Keith (Tamara), granddaughters Ella and Tessa, sister Lesleigh (Ron) Stanford, sister-in-Law Alice Rutley, and numerous nieces and nephews. 

She was predeceased by her mother Grace Calhoun and father Patrick Robertson. Father-in-law Edgar (Mac) Rutley, Mother-in-law Johanna Rutley, Robert, Baillie and Marianne. 

Judy had a small family while growing up and considered Don’s family her own. She met her sister later in life which brought her great joy. 

Judy grew up in Edmonton and attended Crofton House School in Vancouver for several years before returning to Edmonton to graduate. She moved to Calgary where she met her true love Don, got married and had two sons before moving to Cut Knife where she started working at the Post Office. She was then offered a job as Post Mistress in Glaslyn. She travelled there for 2 years before the position in Unity became available. She remained working in Unity until she retired after 25 years and was happy to be able to focus on her grandchildren and her art. Judy loved her family more than anything and was always there to offer help and support. She could talk for hours about anything and everything and was an even better listener. She was kind, loving and cared deeply for her friends and family. 

Judy was well known for her artistic abilities and loved painting nature scenes. She loved all animals, especially her cats which she had several of over the years. She loved reading and enjoyed listening to her grandchildren read to her when she could no longer read herself. She loved baking and made the best buns, gingersnap cookies and bundt cakes. There was always room for another flowerpot on her deck and she loved fresh picked flowers as a centerpiece on the table. 

At Judy’s request there will be no formal funeral service at this time. Arrangements entrusted to Gerein Funeral Service.
