It is with great sorrow and sadness that we announce the passing of Madeleine Eleanor Boudy (nee Yalte) on May 4, 2023 at the age of 97 years at Biggar Long Term Care.

Madeleine was born on the family farm near Court, SK. As it happens another baby was born on the same day in London, England  named Elizabeth who was to become Queen Elizabeth II.  Mom took a great interest in the British Royalty all of her life.

Mom obtained her teaching certificate at Saskatoon Normal School and taught at Daisy Hill School near Ruthilda, SK for 3 1/2 years.  In 1949 she married Franklin Boudy and moved onto the family homestead near Ruthilda, SK. They farmed for 46 years before retiring to Biggar, SK in 1995.

She was a hard worker, and grew great gardens, helped with harvest, milked cows, raised chickens and many other chores while raising two daughters.  In her spare time she enjoyed reading, crocheting, quilting, cross stitch and crossword puzzles.

Mom was predeceased by her husband, Franklin (2016); parents Peter and Thora Yalte; sisters Edna, Evelyn and Frieda; brothers Clifford, Melvin, Stan and Herb.

She leaves to mourn daughters: Dianne (Vernon) Sloman Biggar, SK and Sandra (Ced) Planiden Airdrie, AB;  grandchildren: Brent Planiden Airdrie, AB, Lisa (Michael) Irwin Calgary, AB, Lyndsay (Brian) Harris Airdrie, AB, Dustin (Angela) Sloman Saskatoon, SK; 
great-grandchildren:  Finn Irwin, Ayla Harris, Dharma Harris and Eliana Sloman.
Also left to mourn are her sisters: Doris (Ross) Schmidt; Susan (Doug) Yalte and Phyllis Redman and brothers: Wilf (Marge) Yalte and Ben Yalte.  As well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and other family members.

As per Mom’s request no memorial will be held.

Memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Saskatchewan in memory of Mom.

Many thanks to the staff of Biggar Long Term Care for the excellent care provided to mom during her stay.
