Marjorie E. McKinney Obituary

Marj was a much-loved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was born in Unity, Sask. and grew up on a farm near Tramping Lake. She was the youngest of 10 children & when her parents retired, she moved with them to Victoria, BC in 1947. Mom went to business college and worked in the dockyards in Esquimalt as a stenographer. Marj married Ross McKinney in 1952 and moved back to SK to become a farmer’s wife. They had 4 children & farmed in the Swarthmore district. Mom was a valued Legion Auxiliary, UCW and AA members for many years. Mom and dad spent many hours volunteering with meals on wheels and the courtesy car. Mom and Dad had many memorable trips to Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, China, the UK & several cruises. Mom loved Atton’s Lake and spent many happy summers there where she had many friends. She was a wonderful cook & baker. Marjorie is survived by her daughter Gail her children Kristen (Trent), Ryan (Sarah) and their father Dale, daughter Carol (Steve) children Tara (Devin) and children Olive and Pearl Kelsey (Andrew)- child Frankie; Jaycie, son Brent (Kelly-Jo); Jay+(Irene) child Ami, and several nieces, nephews and extended family members She was predeceased by her husband Ross (2010), Son Jay (1995), her parents John & Katherine Fluney and all of her 9 siblings
