Maureen was born in North Battleford and spent her younger years in Battleford. She married the love of her life Keith Wasson in 1953. They settled in Battleford where they had three children – Keith 1954, Randie 1956, and Patrick 1957. Unfortunately, her husband Keith passed away in 1971, and son Keith passed away in January 1993.
She worked for many years at Land Titles, starting as a bookkeeper and retiring as the Deputy Registrar. Maureen retired from Land Titles at the age of sixty, so she could spend more time wither her Grandchildren who became the new loves of her life.
Maureen and Keith were both heavily involved in both Guiding and Scouting. Maureen also became involved in Beavers with her young Grandsons.
In 2009 Maureen gathered up her two cats and moved to Red Deer to spend time with her son Patrick. She certainly loved shopping in Red Deer.
Alzheimer's Disease started to take over in her later years which made Maureen move back to Unity to be with her daughter Randie.
Losing her husband Keith at such a young age made her fiercely independent. She was not afraid to do anything. Maureen was always ready with her tools to get things fixed.
We know she is where she needs to be, with her 2 Keith's and all her fur babies.
Love you Always.
A private graveside service will be held on Saturday June 11, 2022 at the Battleford Cemetery. Donations in Maureen's honour can be made to the Battleford SPCA.
