It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Richard Roth on September 20th, 2023.
Rick survived cancer as a child and while he experienced long term side effects as a result, he still lived life to the fullest. He loved travelling, riding motorcycles and spending time outdoors, where he enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially at his cabin (one of the first solar and wind-power projects in the province). He was physically active; excelling in his weight class in Judo. Rick was a talented musician who
built guitars, wrote his own songs, and played in a band. He was continuously tinkering and fixing as many vehicles, bikes, boats, tractors, and equipment he could get his hands on.
Even as his health started to decline further, he was still looking forward to his numerous projects. Rick had a distinct laugh, great sense of humor and was always up for doing something exciting. Faith was very important to Rick. He was active in the Catholic church and a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Rick was predeceased by his father Carl and his sister-in-law Denise.
Rick will be forever loved and remembered by his mother Theresa, sister Georgine (Bill), brothers Jack (Virginia), Louis, his twin brother Reg, Mervin and Tim (Mary), along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and numerous friends. A Vigil of Prayer for Richard will be held Monday, September 25, 2023 at 7:00PM, with the Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at 10:30AM. Both services will be held at St. James' Roman Catholic Church in Wilkie, SK. Tributes may be directed to Masses.
Arrangements entrusted to Gerein Funeral Service.
