Bob left this world on September 11 in the arms of his community, family and friends in Biggar, Saskatchewan.
He is survived by his wife Lorraine and their children, Susan (Mike), Ryan (Rhonda), Jill (Chris), Amy (Greg). As well as his twelve grandchildren; Laine, Weston & Faron; Lochlan, Colton & Anna; Owen, Callen, Kelsey & Kyle; Logan & Lynden.
Bob was the eldest of six children born to the late Bruce and Jean Heather of Duperow, Saskatchewan. He is survived by his siblings; Irene (Eldon), Ina (Mitch), Glen (Martha), Joe (Georgina) & Sharon (Dale). As well as numerous nephews and a few nieces who all were special to him.
Bob married his high school sweetheart, Lorraine Gregory, in 1972. They made their home at the old Delmab school yard near Duperow and were blessed with four children. Bob raised Hereford cattle and enjoyed managing his herd in the same areas as his family had done before him.
Bob was an active member of the community on many boards and committees. His sports teams included the Duperow Oldtimers ball team, and curling clubs in both Duperow and Biggar. Many memories and friendships were made.
Bob enjoyed showing cattle and was an active 4H leader for many years (even after his own kids were grown and done 4H). He loved both cows and kids and enjoyed working with both.
Bob was often the first to call to any animal emergency. Many a neighbour had a visit from “Dr. Bob” to fix a cat, pull a calf or any general cattle need. He was an excellent Cattleman.
Bob took great pride in his twelve grandchildren. He enjoyed teaching them all the things he loved; exploring, playing ball, curling, showing calves and teaching them a little bit of mischief.
Bob spent his days outside. He enjoyed, protected and managed his land in the Argo Bush. He enjoyed passing on his knowledge of grass and plants. He taught us that if you love what you do you will never work a day in your life. He enjoyed fishing and camping, the odd beer and a visit with a neighbour were always welcome.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
