Ross Shaw April 30th, 1944 - June 8, 2022
Ross was born on April 30th, 1944 in Biggar, SK to James and Elma Shaw. Dad was raised on the farm north of Traynor and took his schooling at Brooks until Grade 8. He wanted to go on to get a trade but Grandpa wanted him to farm so he gave him the "Dunbar Place" so he could start farming. Dad farmed with his dad until Grandpa passed away. He continued farming and then started working for the Town of Landis until he retired. Dad loved playing and watching curling. He curled a lot of games with Merle Shaw, Virg Franke and Terry Wirachowsky winning many trophies and prizes with lots of laughs, good times and maybe a beer or two. He also did a lot of hunting, skidooing and puzzles. Dad always had a smile on his face there was never a dull moment at all the family gatherings. He was willing to help anybody that needed it and never expected anything in return. Well maybe a Pil or two once in a while.
In 2019 Dad started showing signs of Alzheimer’s, it may have progressed fast but he still had a smile on his face and was always joking around right up till the end.
Ross is lovingly survived by Hilda Walker of 46 years, Trevor (Esther) Shaw, Shanell Shaw, Dawn (Dave) Thompson, Brad Walker, Tammy Bowers, 13 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, his sisters Connie (Maurice) Melnychuk, Lynn Beaupre, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Dad was predeceased by his mother Elma (Mars) Shaw, father James Shaw, sister Arlee Franke, brothers-in-law Virgil Franke, Ray Beaupre and niece Lori Jezowski.
