Stephen Paul Obituary

Stephen Andrew Paul, age 69, of Kelfield, SK, passed away suddenly March 11, 2022. Stephen is survived by his wife Noreen; son Greg (Laurie), and daughter Lisa (Kenton); grandchildren Cole (Caitlin), Dakota (Andrew), and great grandchild Deklan; siblings Terrey (Ron), Donna (Gus), Rick (Cathy), Randy (Sherry), Gwen, Matthew, Juanita, and Wendy; sisters-in-law Wanda and Sandi; and numerous aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his first wife Jane, his mother and father Marion and Hubert, his brother Russell, and sister Gayle.

Stephen was born on May 18, 1952 in Swift Current, SK. He was raised on the family farm near Duncairn, SK. Growing up he helped on the farm, was involved in 4H and was an avid fast ball player. He left home at an early age to work in the seismic industry. He travelled across Western Canada and as far North as the Beaufort Sea. His working career eventually led him to working on the drilling rigs in Alberta. In 1978 Stephen married Jane Metz and they settled on the Metz family farm in the Carmichael, SK area. Their son Greg was born in 1979, and daughter Lisa in 1981. Sadly, Jane passed away in 1981. Stephen stayed on the farm where he raised Greg and Lisa. In 1987 he remarried Noreen Torgerson. They moved to the Vesper area in 1989 where Stephen continued to farm. In that time, he also worked for the RM of Swift Current and the RM of Lac Pelletier, as well as hauled water in the oilfield. After the passing of his parents, he took over the Paul family farm where he farmed and ranched until 2006. Upon selling the farm, he and Noreen moved to Kelfield, SK where he worked for the RM of Grandview as a grader operator. Stephen retired in 2020 and invested his time into helping Noreen run her dog kennel business. He was known for his wit and his joyous laugh. He genuinely enjoyed visiting with his friends and family, as well as spending quality time with Noreen and his children. He had a great love for music, something that lives on in his children. He will be sadly missed but fondly remembered.

A celebration of his life will take place on April 2, 2022 at 2:00 pm in Simmie, SK at the Community Hall.
